Thanksgiving and Thankfulness

As wives and mothers, we set the mood of our home.  With the rush of the season, the preparation, the cooking, the gathering....there is so much for us to wrap our minds around, I tend to neglect the decorating, which leaves our home a bit sparse looking.

I'm not one for store bought clutter, not even for special occasions, but I do love a beautifully set table and handmade decorations.  This is where Pinterest.com comes in.  It is my new found right hand.  Coming up with ideas on my own isn't my specialty, but give me a picture and instructions and I'm all set.  I can find things that fit my very own taste and then go to the website with instructions so easily that I have more crafts on my list to do than I'll ever have time for.

These pictures borrowed from Pinterest.com to give you an idea of what you can find, if you haven't discovered this wonderful site already..... well I hope this inspires you to discover it and the wonderful blogs you might not find otherwise!!

Click on these pictures to find the DIY blog with instructions......how fun!

These table settings are both beautiful, but I have to admit that the simpler one below is more what you might find in our home.

Not only can you find some great do it yourself projects or decoration ideas....there are terrific recipes too!

Here are several different nature projects that should provide a good lesson in thankfulness and creativity for the children!  My favorite is the Thankful Tree!

Other handy things can be found such as scrapping ideas and teachable printables...

As you can see, the creativity is endless!!  Make your own boards and then pin your favorite things to them to have the ideas at your fingertips.  I can never remember where I found a great idea at even though I've bookmarked the site because my list of sites is endless.  The time it takes to go through my bookmarks and find what I'm looking for....well forget it.  Now I pin what I want to remember and a simple glance will lead me back to it.  Plus its fun!  But watch out.....its addicting and you can spend more time finding things than actually creating your finds!

May your Thanksgiving be a blessed time for you and your family!!

  10. Sarah,
We just returned from our Thanksgiving with family and friends, and I admit I have been off the blog for a while and not visited many of my blogging friends lately. You are one of those that I just LOVE to read ~ I am always blessed or learn something which enriches me. Thank you for sharing all you do. BTW, this is a great post. I am really not too familiar with pinterest b/c of time, but I can learn much to share! I like that! I hope you will share again Wednesday :)
